Celebrating 10 Years of Metzler Elementary

School History
The Metzler lineage has contributed prominently to the local community for close to a century and a half. The family patriarch, John Metzler, Sr. was born in 1806 in Oberhorlen Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany. The family emigrated sometime prior to February 15, 1847. They joined other German families to carve out a place in this part of the Texas frontier. Once established in the area, the family tree continued to expand and thrive. After just one generation on American soil, Metzler progenies were represented in many professions and areas of community service. Hard work and commitment to community were traits that continued through the bloodline.

Counseling Program Metzler Elementary participates in the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) No Place for Hate program and uses Project Wisdom messages each day during morning announcements to promote messages of anti-bullying, anti-bias, diversity, tolerance, and positive character traits.
